- 2+ years of technical support experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Experience with SQL databases (querying and analyzing)
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
The mission of Amazon’s Global Security Operations (GSO) organization is to mitigate security and operational risks to our associates, data, and physical assets. The GSO Business Intelligence (BI) team supports this mission through engineering, governing, vending, and analyzing data the organization collects. The GSO BI team, part of Critical Incident Operations (CIOPS), based in Goodyear, Arizona, is seeking a Quality Engineer to develop automated testing scripts and processes for products being developed by the BI team. This includes database views, dashboards, reports, and other data products. The Quality Engineer will also be responsible for processing the operational queue, consisting of requests for ad hoc reports, permissions, and bugs. The Quality Engineer will interact extensively with cross-functional groups such as business intelligence engineers, program managers, data engineers, software developers, and leadership across all Amazon businesses. Successful candidates will have experience with AWS technologies, data visualization platforms, SQL, scripting languages, and interpreting data. Key job responsibilities • Build automated testing scripts for data products • Deep dive bug reports and data discrepancies • Run custom SQL queries for ad hoc report requests • Process the operational request queue (ad hoc reports, access requests, bug reports) • Interact with customers to document business requirements • Partner with cross-organization teams and contributors to gather data and align reporting programs.
