Job Description
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, control systems, computer science, or software engineering • 3+ years of engineering experience in the area of electrical power systems, power conversion, or battery • 3+ years of experience in simulation and modelling for electric power system development • Experience and working knowledge of Matlab or Python to extract, process, and store information from large datasets

Key job responsibilities
This is an electrical/control systems position focusing on building and maintaining digital twin models for the power system, battery, and other power/energy blocks for the project Kuiper satellite. In this role, you will build simulation tools and algorithms that estimate the state of health of power system and provide forecast of power and energy usage.
  • You will be responsible to analyze vehicle power demand in different power modes and investigate trade-studies to optimize the system.
  • You will be responsible for overall design and test verification of your models and simulation tools.
  • You will build models that can be deployed on embedded or cloud platforms.
  • You will work with large quantity of sensor datasets to evaluate health of battery over life and track accuracy of models and performance of system to vehicle requirements.

About the team

• Power system design experience in the area of solar, battery, electric vehicle, drones, satellite, or rocket • Experience developing models for solar array and battery systems • Battery management system design experience in the area of charging, state estimation, and protection for electric vehicle, drones, satellite, or launch vehicles • General knowledge of statistical analysis, signal processing, simulations, regression, optimization, and data analysis tools • Knowledge of orbital mechanics and coordinate transformations • Background in control systems and/or robotics • Experience creating and maintaining complicated simulations and managing large data sets • Excellent skill at organizing data and communicating key requirements to teammates • Cross-organizational communication – comfortable evangelizing ideas and concerns clearly and persuasively, in both verbal and written forms Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
