The Product Development team is a part of the Farming Solutions & Digital group that designs and builds customer-facing digital solutions that maximize value for farmers and advisors. Our work helps fuel and expose Corteva's scientific innovation.

The Software Engineer builds and tends to the team's backend services, front-end experiences, and AWS infrastructure. In this position, you would provide contributions to tooling used by Corteva's agronomists and seed sales representatives to plan and manage seed and product placement experiments that take place throughout crop growing seasons. Candidates should be familiar with building and maintaining web applications using React, relational and key/value-based databases, and demonstrable experience tying the pieces together using a mix of strictly and loosely typed programming languages.

• Be a productive Scrum team member and participate in daily and weekly ceremonies.
• Collaborate with engineers across the organization to develop solutions and processes.
• Create well-structured, extensible code along with unit and integration tests.
• Take an active part in the code review process by providing thoughtful feedback to colleagues and open to receiving constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
• Work with designers and other engineers to build user interfaces using React.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain microservice APIs using CQRS and REST patterns.
• Be involved with our communities of practice within our division to identify, assess, and make recommendations on patterns, practices, and production-ready technologies.

Qualifications

What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

• Experience as a software engineer and comfort with Python and TypeScript
• Comfortable with reviewing and contributing to Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD deployment pipelines, and the associated tooling and processes.
• You are looking forward to work alongside a driven team that takes ownership of the work they do
• You have strong communication skills with a positive and solution oriented mindset

Preferences:

• Current experience with React and commonly-used libraries associated with React.
• Current experience with FastAPI, Flask, Bottle or other Python API libraries.
• Understanding of agriculture concepts and experience in developing AgTech applications.
• 1 - 3 years of experience with Python, JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
