Job Description
The Egencia Homepage team is seeking a Software Engineer to join our experienced team to build and evolve the home page of our product! Users land upon this experience after logging in and is a key opportunity to surface relevant information for their awareness as well as use our data to make the user’s intended task more efficient and effortless. This team also owns our travel advisory offering, which assists clients and travelers when navigating through the complexities of governments' travel advisories. The Homepage team’s scope of work spans front-end development through back-end services to their databases. We are looking for someone passionate about technology to apply best-in-class practices, creative problem-solving, and innovative thinking to our business problems!

What you’ll do:
- Build relationships with and collaborate with team members to co-develop and solve problems.
- Build up your technical expertise in a specific engineering area.
- Understand the importance of system and technology integration and the basic features involved in the integration process.
- Apply software design principles, data structures and/or design patterns, and computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, optimized, tested, maintainable, and operable.
- Grow expertise in database design to address data requirements.
- Collaborate with partner roles like Product, Design, and Analytics to apply good business judgment to refine requirements so that they best address customer needs.
- Apply formal training methods to the current workload and feel comfortable challenging authority/the status quo.
- Use and improve CI/CD pipelines to deploy your work and deliver value to the end-users.
- Report clearly on current work status. Ask challenging questions when empowered to do so.
Who you are:
- 1+ years of industry software development experience in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree or Masters in a related Technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- Experience crafting performant web applications using Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, React, and/or Spring including making application changes.
- Moderate strength in at least one programming language.
- Familiarity in a couple of data stores or API access patterns and integration.
- Understands how crafted functions fit into team projects.
- Understanding of testing and monitoring tools and how to apply them to code.
- Ability to debug applications.
- Basic understanding of how the team's goals fit a business need.
