Position Summary:
This product development and testing position is within SIG SAUER’s digital product division. A QA/Test Engineer will test and promote quality assurance builds to production. This role will work hand in hand with IT leadership, software developers, and product/service to ensure best-in-class applications and ensure that feature sets are delivered to the market that meets users' needs at least amount of friction to the end user.
- Negotiate test systems requirements with internal and external stakeholders, develop new or modified test system specifications, and manage the acceptance of deliverables to promotion to production environments.
- Analyze and translate business requirements and technical specifications into functionally sound test plans and cases to validate digital applications.
- Produce quality testing deliverables (Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Conditions Matrices, Test Data, Test Scripts, and Test Status and Defect Reporting) in coordination with external development resources.
- Collaborate with software and production engineers to design scalable services, plan feature roll-out, and ensure high reliability and performance of key products both before going to market or while systems are “in-flight”.
- Be comfortable performing a manual test of user-based interactions to ensure bug-free performance, report defects, and validate bug fixes.
- Must be comfortable performing manual tests on peripherals where the interaction may require observation and proximity to firearms.
- Apply software testing best practices to ensure that the team delivers high-quality software, which may include various automated testing suites.
- Ensure baseline quality standards such as responsiveness of applications, device compatibility across multiple channels, and optimization for maximum speed and scalability.
- Compile and analyze data to troubleshoot problems, identify improvement areas, and compile results into actionable reports.
- 5+ years of Experience in a mid/lead tier QA role.
- Experience working with midsize to large-scale mobile and web applications.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of various automated testing suites such as Andersen Inc, Testsigma, DataDog, and Testlio.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and organize Quality Assurance deliverables and tasks on multiple projects concurrently.
- Expertise with QA and mobile app publication processes for Apple and Google Play stores.
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (like React, and Vue).
- Experience with cloud computing (Amazon Web Services).
- Experience with Test Management and Defect Tracking tools.
- Experience designing, developing, and executing test cases.
- Experience with continuous integration, test automation, and scripting.
- Focus on quality and detail.
- Demonstrated initiative and commitment to ongoing process improvement.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
