Job Description
The Network Security Administrator is responsible for handling all aspects of Information Security and Networking; ensuring high availability to GTE’s network, checking for security violations, managing security and network tools, and taking action against cyber-attacks or network outages. The team utilizes the latest technologies to maintain a highly available, secured, and controlled environment, preserving the confidentiality, and integrity decision ability of the organization’s information.
What does GTE look for in a Network Security Administrator?
Technical:
- Maintain/ Monitor Network and security architectures and design with Service Level Agreements around uptime and availability for employee and the membership facing systems
- Critical response to network and security events, making a business decision on Member/Employee experience to ensure the organization’s data is kept protected.
- Manage the organization’s Web App Firewall and App Security infrastructure.
- Maintain and grow the cloud network and security infrastructure and design, such as Vnet ,Vhub, NSG, and NSG
- Understanding of networking voice traffic like SBCs and direct routing
- Analyzes and assesses vulnerabilities in the infrastructure (software, hardware, networks), investigates available tools and countermeasures to remedy the detected vulnerabilities, and recommends solutions and best practices.
- Evaluates present equipment conditions and methods to make recommendations for improvements to the security of operations.
- Help maintain and enrich the Information Security Program - Information handling of procedures and guidelines.
- Assist in the management of hardware/software configurations including set-up, maintenance, and backup.
Operational:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to the U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or 5 to 7 years of experience in the field
- Four to six years of information security experience
- Certificates preferred: MCSE, CCNA, GSEC, CISSP
Position Details:
- Location: Downtown Tampa – GTE Headquarters
- Department Hours: Monday– Friday (8:00 am to 6:00 pm) // Saturday (9:00 am to 1:00 pm)
- Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
Work arrangements (in-office, hybrid, or remote) may be changed at any time by management with appropriate notice, if possible.
Required for Remote Work:
- A quiet workplace so you can focus on delivering excellent service to our members.
- Must live in a location that can leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
- Minimum upload speed 5 MB/s, preferred upload speed 25 MB/s.
- Minimum download speed 25 MB/s, preferred download speed 50 MB/s.
- Candidates must provide and meet all technical requirements before the first day of training.
- Hybrids - Candidates must live within driving distance of the office location and be able to regularly commute to and from the office location as needed.
