PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage workover rig scheduling, conduct failure analysis and reviews, design workover procedures, manage land obligations, and evaluate rig performance to maximize well production
  • Train and mentor fellow engineers, field staff, and interns in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Provide close oversight on LOE & WOE budget, and review with field ops to measure & manage area performance regularly
  • Support vendor management strategy with regular price checks and work hand in hand with supply chain to ensure product/service availability at competitive pricing
  • Manage flowback of new wells and optimize frac impact production restoration
  • When applicable, optimize compression systems and well injection supporting gas lifted/plunger-assisted wells
  • Assist field operations staff with day-to-day operational issues, root cause analysis, maintenance programs, and drive revenue optimization in a dynamic routing environment
  • Be a leader in efforts to enhance automation, integration, and optimization of existing processes
  • Secondary/tertiary artificial lift design of rod pumps, gas lift, plunger lift, ESP, or jet pump systems
  • Use cloud-based data platforms to analyze and visualize production and operations data
  • Maintenance and surveillance of an assigned well group
  • Lead chemical program in your area with regular well & chemical reviews, vendor meetings, and treatment optimization
  • Work hand in hand with Land department to ensure wells hold key acreage while providing economic analysis guidance recommendations for marginal well decisions (shut-in, TAs, P&As)

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

  • BS Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program is required
  • Preferred 7+ years of production/operations engineering experience
  • Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient Microsoft Excel. Must be technology savvy and able to learn new software quickly.
  • Experience with ARIES, Rodstar, Scada systems, Spotfire/PowerBI, AWS tools, SiteView and WellView are preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and high degree of emotional intelligence.
  • Must be self-motivated and have a high level of personal responsibility and accountability for the projects assigned.
  • Professional Engineering License is preferred

COMPENSATION:

Salary is commensurate with experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of a normal office environment. No environmental hazards are encountered in performance of normal job duties. Regular field visits (+2x/week) will be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require occasional pushing, pulling or carrying 20-pound objects such as files, documents, and computer printouts. Work involves sitting most of the time but may involve standing and walking for brief periods. Overtime is a requirement of the job.
