The Role

The Wealth Advisor Solutions (WAS) Team, within Fidelity Institutional Business Enablement Technology (FIBET), is seeking a full-stack software engineer! This role requires an upbeat self-starter who can champion collaboration and cultivate a close partnership with business and the development teams to craft and implement solutions on the WAS platform.

The Team

The WAS development team at Fidelity designs, builds, and supports an outstanding platform that allows Fidelity Representatives to create referrals on behalf of their clients to qualified Registered Advisor Firms (RIAs.). This team is an innovative, diverse, and hardworking group, who use an Agile approach and principles to deliver solutions that provide tailored engagement experiences.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Engineering Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related major with 3+ years of software development experience or advanced degree in computer science (or related major) with 2+ years of software development experience

  • An understanding of .NET Core

  • Experience with Java, and related technologies is a plus

  • Client-side language, library, and framework proficiency: Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node, NPM, HTML/CSS, RxJS

  • Appreciation for and alignment to standard methodologies regarding object-oriented design, coding standards, RESTful service consumption and integration, common design patterns, secure application development, and test coverage

  • Experience with SQL and T-SQL

  • Familiarity with Docker containerization and AWS cloud deployment and application management via the AWS console

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Git, Jenkins, Flosum, Copado, etc.

  • Experience working in an Agile software delivery environment

Engineering Leadership:

  • Robust critical thinking skills coupled with a desire for growth, to learn and to engage with peers in technical and design discussions

  • Experience in communicating technical needs and capabilities to non-technical team members, product owners, and partners

  • Ability to utilize a long-term mentality to help produce scalable, maintainable solutions

  • Desire to provide outstanding product support, including on-call support, when necessary
