The Opportunity

Abt Associates seeks a qualified Low-Code Application Developer to support our Digital and Data Services (DDS) division. This role will be focused on building applications in Appian using for federal, state, and local customers.

Core Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deliver intelligent automation solutions using industry leading vendor technologies, specifically Appian
• Design Appian solutions that solve client problems and automate processes with a focus on operability, performance, scalability, maintainability, and usability
• Analyze user requirements to derive technical software design and performance requirements
• Assist in the scoping of prospective engagements
• Provide guidance on the technical design requirements while following development and database best practices
• Develop and execute test procedures for software components

What We Value

• Appian – Specific Requirements
• Appian Certified Associate Developer, Senior or Lead Developer preferred.
• 2+ years experience developing solutions Appian across multiple use cases and products
• Experience implementing advanced Appian components and configurations
• In-depth knowledge of Business Process Management, Appian Portal, and RPM Suite required
• Understanding of Appian extensions including authentication mechanisms, advanced user management, plug-in development, and networking preferred
• Broader Application Development
• Application Minimum of 5 years of application development experience, including full cycle software web development and release management implementation knowledge
• Experience developing in a variety of low-code applications, such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Microsoft Power Apps, Mendix, or Oracle APEX preferred.
• Exposure to development in Drupal, LAMP stack, .Net, JS Framework, and other fullstack application development environments a plus
• Keen understanding of relational and non-relational data management and design
• Experience working on an Agile Scrum team
• Experience with deploying applications on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google platforms
• Bachelor-level degree in IT related field or equivalent professional experience
• General skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences and expertise levels
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to think creatively and approach challenges in new or different ways.
• Able to translate business requirements into technical requirements.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $91,408.75 to $146,254.01 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
