The Boeing Customer Support Center located in Seal Beach, CA is currently seeking Associate Mechanical Systems Customer Support Engineers with knowledge of airplane design and/or engineering principles who can perform challenging, interesting, and dynamic engineering work as a member of the Boeing Customer Support team. A Mechanical Systems Customer Support Engineer will work directly with airline customers to address and resolve in-service airplane system issues related to interiors and payload systems. In this role, you will also be tasked with working directly with airline customers to analyze system issues, writing technical documents to advise airline customers of status/resolution, supervising supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:
Assessing and resolving product/process issues through the product life-cycle.

Leading research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.

Designing and/or providing analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service.

Working with and possibly advising cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for sophisticated design non-conformance.

Assesses sophisticated system events reports to determine potential safety issues.

Develops and implements product/process improvements.

Writes documentation of hardware related problems.

Participates in activities for on-site disabled product repair teams.

Develops customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.

Solves problems and provides other support of fielded hardware over the entire product life-cycle.

Works with others to develop program test strategies.

Manages performance of critical suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

Conducts program independent reviews and reports results to program leadership.

Flexibility to address emergent issues and important airline meetings off-hours and may require an occasional off-shift work schedule to support the fleet operating 24 hours/7 days a week/365 days of the year.

This position is expected to be 100% on-site. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations or approved alternative locations.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited course of study.
Must be willing to be on call 24x7 as required to support emergent airline customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ years' related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
1+ years experience with Transport, Boeing 7-Series or McDonnell Douglas Aircraft is a plus

Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $80,750 - 109,250
