The Front End Design and Test Team is committed to improving our customers’ work through excellence in visibility, durability, and reliability. As a Front End design engineer, you’ll develop and release components and assemblies, including weldments, castings, linear and rolling bearings, sensors, and hydraulics. Responsibilities:
- Concept development for component & system design.
- Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Translate truck-level and system-level requirements to component requirements.
- Interface with vendors, internal plants, and other stakeholders to deliver product to requirements.
- Create product design documentation – e.g., solid models, drawings, engineering lists, test plans.
- Plan and support development testing to ensure design robustness.
- Communicate both verbally and through written reports.
- Be open minded and flexible in a team environment to response to customer needs.
- Solicit opinions from coworkers, support group decisions, and display team spirit.
- Exhibit good judgment and ability to take decisive actions to effectively develop product.
- Apply basic systematic problem-solving principles and methods to resolve product issues.
- Attention to procedures and details to ensure accuracy in design, testing and records.
Qualifications:
- Formal education with a minimum B.S. in Engineering.
- Basic CAD skills (modeling, drafting, and layouts) and analysis techniques.
- Basic knowledge/skill in vehicle/automotive technology.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exposure to and interest in industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts, agriculture, trucks) is desirable.
- Experience with Siemens NX and/or Siemens Teamcenter
