Back End Developer II (M Lab) – Job Description
Medical Solutions creates software to support every aspect of a healthcare clinician’s career and the hospitals that staff them to reduce friction, increase operational efficiency, and improve healthcare outcomes.
The M Lab is a team of research analysts, product managers, designers, developers, and QA engineers that create and transform ideas into disruptive products.
We are looking for a remote Back End Developer to join the lab to create products and services that thousands of people use. In this position, you will use your back-end development skills to build web and native mobile applications and be nimble enough to work on multiple projects at various stages of the development cycle with fluid requirements. As a lab taking home run swings, we’re looking for someone excited about building solutions to disrupt the healthcare staffing industry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work directly with product managers, designers, and analysts to conceptualize and build the scope of new products
- Deliver quality, functional, maintainable code
- Works with product managers to identify priority and assess timelines
- Be a committed agile teammate that pitches in to help the team reach their goals
- Enforce industry and company best practices within your team
- Prioritize automated unit tests to ensure the highest code quality
- Responsible for documenting all programs to the required company standard
- Continually learn and stay up to date with the ever-changing technical landscape
- Mentor other team members on new technologies and practices
- Impact and inspire, celebrate and focus on the happiness of others
Job Qualifications:
- Demonstrable proficiency in NodeJS API development and any flavor of SQL
- A minimum of 4 years of application development experience
- A desire to learn and work in a Linux/Mac OS development environment
- Experience with SQL databases
- Experience with database ORMs like Sequelize
- Experience designing relational databases or other data storage methods
- Familiarity with cloud-based architecture using Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Services
- Ability to work without supervision
- Experience in a startup or small team environment
