The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Application Technology Research Unit (ATRU) is seeking a Research Mechanical/Agricultural Engineer for its Wooster, OH or Toledo, OH worksite. ATRU scientists conduct fundamental and applied research on the health and quality of ornamental and edible crops produced in controlled environment agricultural systems. The incumbent is responsible for developing a new research program to advance the efficiency and productivity of controlled environment agriculture by applying robotics and automation technology. The incumbent will work as part of an integrated research team that develops novel strategies for other aspects of controlled environment agricultural systems related to, but distinct from, the incumbent's own research program.
