Job Summary
The Welding & QC Engineer I is responsible for performing entry-level Welding & Quality Control (QC) work as directed by the Welding & QC Manager to support various field and fabrication offices.
Essential Functions
- Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
- Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”
- Interprets and applies technical information from Codes, Standards, and Specifications.
- Provides technical support and direction on quality control, welding, and metallurgy topics.
- Assists engineering and drafting personnel with the incorporation of Welding & QC requirements.
- Prepares Welding & QC procedures, work instructions, checklists, and other departmental documents.
- Presents Welding & QC technical information internally and externally.
- Provides Welding & QC technical training.
- Utilizes specialty Welding & QC software.
- Maintains frequent internal and external customer interaction.
- Perform other related duties, as directed.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a Welding, Metallurgy, or Mechanical specialty required.
- Entry-level Engineer, no experience required.
- Basic knowledge of strength of materials, metallurgy, inspection, and materials joining.
- Prior welding or inspection experience is highly desirable.
- Cooperates with other team members; interacts with individuals at all organizational levels in professional manner.
- Exhibits excellent listening, oral and written skills.
- Demonstrates good organizational skills and ability to follow directions.
- Occasional overtime and travel may be required.
