Job Description
- Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements. Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications. Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements. Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle. Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs. Makes recommendations for technology investments.
C17 Program- 12 months possibly longer
- Ability to obtain Secret Clearance Post start
- 1st shift (no earlier than 7am start because working with Long Beach office - 5pm)
- Webex video panel interview
- Must be 100% onsite in OKC
Requirements:
- Problem solving skills
- Leadership in technical environment
- 1+ years of full time aerospace industry experience with Avionics, Flight Management System and Electrical Systems
- 4 year degree in electrical or aerospace engineering
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
- Have one of the following: Military/Commercial Aircrew experience, Private Pilot License, or Flight Instructor certification
- Experience with shell scripting languages including Python
Preferred Skills:
- Classroom or work related programming experience with any of the following software development languages: Ada, C, C++, C#, JAVA, and Python
- 4 year engineering degree
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft, avionics, flight controls, and/or other electronics
Position Responsibilities:
- Work on complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
- Lead and develop designs for new functionality on the C-17 in order to provide U.S and international military customers with more capabilities and automation
- Perform root cause analysis and propose solutions to field issues
- Synthesize measured aircraft data with operational models and specifications; and usage of multitude of software tools, including self-developed programs and scripts as needed
- Lead/perform evaluation of customer/operational needs in order to refine system performance and functional requirements and define physical, functional and program interfaces
- Perform various analyses to develop and optimize the system architecture; including system testing, performing root cause analysis and defining corrective action
- Develop solutions to technical problems of significant scope and impact
- Apply solid engineering, scientific, and common sense principles in the context of achieving Avionic Systems upgrades within real world cost & schedule targets
