Position Overview:

Do you love building ️ products people love? As a Principal Software Engineer you will work as part of our highly collaborative team to develop back-end services. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of advanced deployment mechanisms and continuous integration models, with experience scaling applications on a global level.
As a member of our Engineering Team, you'll have the chance to collaborate on exciting projects and find creative solutions to coding obstacles. Your curiosity to continue learning, as well as a knack for problem-solving , will be key to delivering innovative products to our clients and their guests, as our team members are always looking for new ways to push the boundaries of what’s possible. Location: United States; then, you choose what works for you! This role can be performed 100% remotely anywhere in the US, at one of our office locations in the US, or a hybrid version of in-office and remote.

What you’ll be working on:

    • Developing and maintaining Java microservices
    • Collaborating with other engineering teams that consume our APIs
    • Ownership of the full lifecycle of services, including deployment and operation in production
    • Authors, reviews and approves requirements and designs for team
    • Contributes to and guides architectural decision
    • Assists peers with even the most difficult programming and debugging issues
    • Participating in daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions as part of our Agile development process

Technologies you may work with:

    • Java 8
    • Spring Boot
    • AWS Services: EC2, ECS, ECR, S3, MSK, Lambdas
    • MySQL
    • Jenkins or similar CI/CD technologies
    • Datadog or similar metrics monitoring technologies

What you bring to the role:

    • 10+ years of relevant work experience

    • Experience mentoring peer engineers in a technical capacity
    • Experience architecting multi-tier solutions
    • Experience in Java or similar OO language (like C#)
    • A strong grasp of OO programming principles
    • Experience with relational databases, including writing complex SQL queries
    • Experience with REST APIs and ORM tools
    • Experience with messaging technologies and event streaming platforms
    • Experience with cloud computing methodologies like high availability, scalability, fault-tolerance and resiliency
    • A willingness and ability to embrace an AGILE development methodology

$106,000 - $155,000 a year
Salary offered is based upon experience.
