Key Role:

Work supports engine research facility specializing in vehicle engines and drives research, and involves the installation and operation of facility and research test and support systems. Applies engineering physics, engineering mathematics and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture or maintenance of mechanical systems. Applies specific functional, working and general industry knowledge. Develops or contributes to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance and may review or guide activities of more junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience working in engine research facilities specializing in vehicle engines and drives research

• Experience operating test rigs and collecting experimental data

• Experience with corrective, preventive and performance-based maintenance of facility and test support systems

• Experience with Dynamometer operations

• Knowledge of engine and drive performance concepts

• Ability to obtain a security clearance

• Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with engines and drives test systems

• Experience with precision adjustments and machining operations to include turning, milling, drilling, and grinding

• Experience with high-speed shaft alignment and balancing

• Experience with programming, including LabVIEW and C++

• Knowledge of engine aerodynamics and thermodynamics

• Knowledge of drive system mechanics

• Ability to conduct complex mechanical tasks with minimal supervision

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $49,800.00 to $102,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
