Associate Director of IT Services Sourcing - Hybrid
The Associate Director of Corporate and Professional Services Sourcing leads a Strategic Sourcing and Category Management team responsible for multiple highly complex categories within the corporate and professional services areas of spend. The team is responsible for development of category and sourcing strategies, sourcing execution, negotiations, contracting activities, and relationship management across the assigned categories. The purpose of this role is to optimize the total cost of ownership and increase the total value derived from our corporate and professional services investments for non-merchandise goods and services acquired by Best Buy.
The Associate Director will have consistent exposure to Best Buy executives, strategic suppliers, and highly complex agreements, working cross-functionally with leaders from all levels across the Best Buy Enterprise.
This role is hybrid, which means you must be located within a drivable distance to our Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, MN. You might be asked to come into the office up to 3 days per week.

What you’ll do
- Develop and manage category strategies across multiple categories within corporate and professional services spend, with multiple sub-categories of varying complexity
- Create, manage, and delegate team assignments across all corporate and professional services sourcing categories
- Partner with leaders across the enterprise to translate business objectives into category goals and maintain business and technical vocabulary necessary to understand the goals and roadblocks of the Best Buy stakeholder teams
- Serve as subject matter expert for corporate and professional services spend and associated procurement process and practices
- Partner with internal Procurement team and Legal to evolve best practices including but not limited to contracting, relationship management, audits, benchmarking, process efficiency, and innovation
- Engages with peers, senior and executive leaders, and larger cross-functional teams to enhance ways of partnering between procurement and the business, to enable strategic value delivery.
- Coach and lead others, including direct and indirect Procurement team members, through the change process and help them to understand the value and opportunity of the change.
- 5 or more years of Strategic Sourcing experience
- 3 or more years of supervisory/people leadership experience, coaching and employee development
- 3 or more years of experience working with professional services and/or global delivery vendors
- 3 or more years of collaborating with, building relationships with, and influencing senior level and -C-suite stakeholders
- Advanced degree
- Ability to “talk tech” to technology suppliers and technology subject matter experts
- Experience with onshore, nearshore, and offshore models of service delivery
- Experience in strategy and negotiations of enterprise-wide, complex outsourcing agreements
- Experience in retail industry
