R&D Support Technician

The salary range for this position is $75k - $95k. In addition to a competitive market-based salary, Sciton provides an opportunity to participate in equity/stock incentive programs, a profit-sharing bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package, including 401K with matching.

Sciton requires full vaccination as a condition of employment.

Sciton is seeking an entry-level technician with hands-on mechanical skills to support the research and development of our top-of-the-line medical laser systems. The technician will be responsible for building prototypes, test fixtures, components, and specialized tools using our on-site workspace.

Other duties will include modifying existing components, troubleshooting prototypes, and performing basic CAD work. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to quickly, effectively, and independently complete tasks with available resources.

We strongly value the applicant with a can-do, motivated attitude and creative problem-solving skills and will want applicants to provide concrete examples in the interview process.



Position Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Competency with basic electrical work (Soldering, crimping, wiring, troubleshooting)
  • Familiarity with shop tools (Milling machine, lathe, hand tools)
  • Experience building simple electronic and mechanical devices

Desired Capabilities:

  • Experience using 3D Printers
  • Experience with CAD (Solidworks)
  • Experience with simple programming (Arduino scripting, Mathematica, LabView, MATLAB
