Job Description:

Leidos has an opening for a Systems Administrator in Orlando, Florida. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of the environment by monitoring, leading and/or working with others to troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure high availability and continuity of operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain, configure, and ensure the reliable operation of network servers
• Manage permissions associated with file shares and ensure production network devices
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
• Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for root cause analysis, technical assessment, and process improvement initiatives.
• Provide documentation and technical specifications for planning, purchasing, and implementing new or upgrading existing IT infrastructure.
• Document, review, and update system administration guides and procedures.
• Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage servers and service accounts, and integrate automation processes.
• Administer backup operations for database instances, Sharepoint servers, and application servers to include offsite media retention.
• Provide updates to the business unit regarding any planned service outages or IT changes that may impact business operations.
• Collaborate with security teams to perform environment specific security control reviews.
• Manage firewall rule requests and complete CMMC related initiatives.
• Asset procurement and management.
• Conduct active monitoring of environment and respond to alerts and errors.
• Interact with team members and managers to prioritize service requests, address inquiries, and resolve problems.
• Collaborate with the business to support revenue generating activities or cost reduction initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ability to solve problems in stressful situations.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Demonstrate good judgement and written/verbal communications.
• Fundamental understanding of networking and networking equipment.
• Experience with Windows 2012, Windows 2012 R2, Windows 2016, and Windows 2019 Server products.
• Experience managing Windows file and application servers, SQL Servers, Web Servers (IIS).
• Experience managing Windows file permissions.
• Experience with virtualization technologies including Hyper-V and VMware.
• Ability to follow documented processes and to provide updates to optimize or enhance the process when needed.
• Experience working in an environment with high uptime and availability requirements.
• Experience supporting forward-facing production applications.
• Experience prioritizing tasks including project related activities and operational support initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree and 4 years related experience or an Associates Degree and 6 years experience in technical-related field such as Network Systems Administration.
• Familiarity with basic Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
• Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint Server and Microsoft Exchange administration.
• Experience with common software testing methods and tools in an agile software development environment.
• Experience with ticketing systems workflow, documentation, and end-user support.
