Job Description
I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department requires the services of 1 Web Developer 2, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Web Developer 2, Web Development and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. All work products resulting from the project shall be considered "works made for hire" and are the property of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Candidates) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Candidate(s).
The Python Web Developer performs complex web development work, including development, coding, code validation, accessibility remediation and planning in order to produce accessible web projects using the Django framework.
II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements: Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity.

Sixty semester credit hours from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Web Design, Web Development, Web Accessibility, Programming, Emerging Media, Graphic Design, Computer or related field.

One year of experience web development with Python.

One additional year web development or web design work may substitute for thirty semester hours of the required experience, with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours.

Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate’s degree with major coursework in Web Design, Web Development, Programming, Emerging Media, Graphic Design, Computer or related field.

Experience developing in PHP, designing and using REST APIs, with SQL database, with Django or other python web frameworks, using the Linux command line for web development.

Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python for creation of web pages/web sites, with ability to code for web browsers across multiple platforms and versions. Knowledge of web standards and accessibility requirements with ability to use validation .
