Job Description Summary: What you need to know about the role: Braintree Org is looking for highly talented & self-motivated senior software engineer who has specialization in Java/Kotlin/RoR/SQL/Data/Cloud to build our product capabilities/solutions for its Pricing domain. As a senior software engineer on Pricing team, you will be responsible for design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications, document and test systems, modify as appropriate. Meet our team: This position is for Pricing team within Braintree org. This team manages stability, compliance, domain isolation and engineering excellence of Pricing app. You will anchor projects with other engineers, architects, managers, Product Management, and Operations teams to design and develop innovative processes and create solutions that meet business requirements.

Your day to day
In your day to day role you will
- Act as a trusted committee for one or more projects to critically review the code and take accountability in ensuring high standards of code quality with zero Production defects
- Build key components of our platform via pair programming with other engineers.
- Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team.
- Build performance sensitive systems that serve tens of millions of requests each day.
- Be an active voice in architectural decisions for Braintree’s payments system.
- Design and implement solutions that ensures faster time to market
- Translate product requirements to functional requirements and define acceptance criteria at Epic/Story level.
- Identify & prioritize tech excellence initiatives/debts in every opportunity to bring customer delight & improve our productivity
What do you need to bring-
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering
- Design and operational experience with large scale production grade systems
- Deep experience in one or more of the following: Kotlin, Java, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or shell scripting.
- Strong understanding of algorithmic techniques, design patterns and best practices.
- Experience building and maintaining large distributed systems on one of the major cloud providers
- Extensive API design and development experience.
- Strong technical accomplishments in SQL, MySQL, Postgres, or similar data handling experience.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tooling such as Terraform.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, agile development environment.
- Ability to partner with business units, product management, program management and cross-functional teams to deliver business results with agility and high quality.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work on concurrent assignments with different priorities.
- Proven results-oriented engineer with a focus on the customer and delivering quality products.
- Knowledge/experience with Unix. Knowledge/experience with GitHub.
Actual Compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to work location, and relevant skills and experience.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $72700 to $176000
