Your Responsibilities
As a Quality Engineer, Product Development for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA you will:
Participates on PDP (Product Delivery Process) teams as the Quality representative, ensuring quality activities and plans are formulated and followed.- Engages in applying/leading Quality tools in Product Delivery Process (PDP) teams.
- Encourages early interaction of both customer and supplier input to team activities. Participates in Design Process and Assembly Reviews (DPARs), print reviews, and design reviews of new products.
- Monitors and facilitates quality activities for part approval, verifies manufacturing processes (control plans, assembly instructions) and confirms process capability.
- Uses quality tools and practices to establish approval criteria to ensure the identification of quality failure concerns for both internal and external manufactured parts and assemblies. An example is Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Investigates product quality problems, determines root cause for quality problems, gathers and analyzes data and implements corrective action to reduce or eliminate non-value waste resulting from non-conformances, scrap or reclaim.
What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)
Experience with manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities. (1 - 3 years)- Experience working in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, methods, reliability, design, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, quality. (1 - 3 years)
- Understanding of drawing and schematic interpretations, product models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Application of standard quality tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes Effect Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), Root Cause Analysis, Statistics.
- Effective writing and communication skills
What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)
Experience applying quality engineering tools (1 - 3 years)- Experience leading FMEAs and influencing engineering teams (1 - 3 years)
- Background in a manufacturing environment and new product development (1 - 3 years)
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
