General Purpose and Scope of Position:
Wilbur Ellis Nutrition is seeking an experienced sales & technical systems professionals to build antioxidant product lines. The Technical Service Engineer- Pet food and Rendering will drive the achievement of the WE application systems program, while actively participating in a small, collaborative, dynamic team environment. They will leverage extensive background (training, work experience, technical expertise) in Pet Food or feed manufacturing for immediate impact. The TSE will build and expand relationships with pet industry stakeholders and industry influencers, positioning the Wilbur Ellis Nutrition portfolio as the brand of choice. They will develop and execute a customer solutions plan aimed at positioning Wilbur Ellis Nutrition as the leading pet food additive and ingredient solution provider. Wilbur Ellis team members will work together to identify technical market trends and needs that contribute to the overall business plan for long-term success. The TSE will be a frequent presenter and is expected to develop into a leader in the pet food and rendering industry. The TSE will travel extensively and will report to Sr. Account Manager of Wilbur Ellis Nutrition. The role will be remote and can be residence based anywhere within the United States, with a preference for the Midwest.
Key Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant industry-related field preferred (ex: Engineering, Ag Business, Feed Science, Technical Systems Management); or 3-5 years of industry-related work experience;
- Strong knowledge of pet food or animal nutrition industry and practices;
- Technical knowledge of industry-related operations and application systems;
- Cscape knowledge a plus
- Demonstrated success in achieving results;
- Ability to prioritize;
- Ability to work well independently and in teams;
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills;
- Knowledge of manufacturing practices in the animal nutrition industry
- Ability to work in feed manufacturing and processing environments
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 40-60% of the time, including overnights

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables:
- Develop and implement a plan to optimize an application systems program for targeted antioxidant products across WE customer base;
- Leverage technical knowledge and product expertise to create a WE market advantage
- Build and maintain relationships with high-priority end users and industry influencers to drive product sales;
- Provide product training, technical support, and stewardship, as well as participate in industry events to support the business and the business objectives;
- Collaborate with team members to maximize ingredient and additives business results in both the short and long term in areas such as marketing, customer support, supply chain, and regulatory;
- Build the WE brand into the position of market leadership in application technology with customer-focused solutions;
- Work closely with the sales & technical sales team to deliver application technology for antioxidant customers.
- Utilize KPIs regularly to monitor and report progress toward goals and report on competitors & suppliers, etc.;
- Identify and leverage new market suppliers and technology to incorporate into WE solutions.
- Provide customer-specific service plans & forecasts;
- Proof of concepts
- Pre-sales support and post-sales support
- Comply with all WE policies
Compensation and Benefits:
- In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $83,700 - $117,230. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
