Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for controls engineering project requirements involving DCS/PLC programming, control panel design, instrumentation, check-out support, and start-up assistance.
  • This includes designing, developing, and implementing DCS/PLC control system (logic software and hardware) to meet process requirements.
  • Research, design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, and systems.
  • Develop schematics detailing control system configuration and wiring, and design equipment panel layouts on AutoCAD software.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Perform SOO script testing to verify that the devices operate properly and as designed in Citect SCADA.
  • Verify PID functionality as designed for the Economizer, ECH, Room Differential Pressure (DP), and Cold Aisle DP.
  • Work with sensor array animation table, simulate the working environment values for various sensors in the graphics, and maintain the graphics standards.
  • Set up Modbus settings, airflow settings, and altitude settings in shaft air flowmeter.
  • Ensure that the switchboard and IP address for each data hall unit is set correctly in OPC UA.
  • Act as Project team member on projects executing implementation plans, taking direction from Project Technical Lead and Project Manager, performing work to meet overall project deadlines, and traveling to project installation and start-up.
  • Assist with initial start-up and debug integrated systems and the development of system documentation.
  • Work on automation and control system integration projects for clients in industries such as data centers, specialty chemicals, and pulp & paper.
  • Utilize the following tools and technologies: Schneider UnityXL, PowerSCADA Studio, OPC UA, Runtime Manager 8.0, Citect Graphics Builder, Cicode, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and RsLogix5000.
  • Up to 50% travel is required for the position to work at worksites and client sites across the country as needed and customary for the occupation.
  • Position allows work from home anywhere in the United States; headquarters are located at 6101 Blue Circle Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55343.

Position Requirements:

  • The position requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial or Energy Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • The qualified candidate must have at least 1 year (12 Months) of experience in an industrial or energy engineering, process engineering, controls engineering position, or closely related occupation.
  • The qualified candidate must also have at least 1 year (12 Months) of experience with all of the following: (a) performing SOO script testing to verify the functionality of code and that devices operate properly and as designed; (b) verifying PID functionality is as designed; (c) working with sensor array animation tables to simulate working environment values for various sensors in the graphics and ensure maintenance of graphics standards; (d) ensuring switchboard and IP addresses for data hall unit are set correctly according to project requirements; (e) setting Modbus, airflow, and altitude settings; and (f) utilizing the following tools and technologies: Schneider UnityXL, PowerSCADA Studio, OPC UA, Runtime Manager 8.0, Citect Graphics Builder, Cicode, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
  • Up to 50% travel is required for the position to work at worksites and client sites across the country as needed and customary for the occupation.
  • All experience may be gained concurrently.
