Overview

Role :To execute and properly document product formulation work, support beverage development needs of the Flavor Innovation team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all activities in a safe manner and within the context of all PepsiCo safety protocols.
  • Support scientists in testing new ingredients and logging taste results in a database.
  • Provide application support by accurately utilizing FMP’s and sweetener systems.
  • Provide product formulation support by accurately preparing beverage and beverage concentrates.
  • Perform shelf life and functionality testing of new FMP developments.
  • Enter new raw materials and create eRMD’s for any vendor approved FMP submissions.
  • Maintain laboratory and sample inventory of ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Plan, conduct and coordinate production runs, manage ingredient orders, expiration, handling, prepare batch sheets, schedule and run tech center, ensure product meets specifications.
  • Submission of samples for analytical and sensory evaluation.
  • Document details in laboratory notebook.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized laboratory environment.
  • Effectively work with members of other groups in order to maintain the lab or conduct lab work.

  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks to support the individuals of the workgroup and manage time and expectations for workgroup needs. Effectively communicate conflict of requests.

  • Must be proactive, reliable and self-motivated.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to proactively and positively interface with various technical functions.
  • Must be well organized, capture work details and learning and highlight any unexpected learning.
  • Computer Skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook (email/calendar).
Compensation & Benefits:
  • The expected Compensation range for this position is between $55,400 - $83,150.
  • Location confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.

Desired:

  • Technician and/or Summer Intern experience(s) at a consumer goods company.
  • Laboratory bench work experience in school or industry. (Work in food and beverage industry a plus).
  • Familiarity with common lab analytical instruments and beverage and flavor processing equipment.
