Summary
This is a Term appointment position located in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Operations Division, Office of Technology and Innovation, under the Design and Development Team. User Experience (UX) Designers at the CFPB drive project discovery activities, synthesize contextual information, and build prototypes and visualizations that help their colleagues understand, test, and implement solutions.
Responsibilities
The following are the duties of this position at the CN-53, broadly equivalent to the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- As a UX designer, assignments include work across diverse teams to understand project constraints and goals, facilitate discovery workshops, synthesize user research and data analytics, and design interfaces and interactions.
- Interface with program officials at all levels throughout the CFPB to identify and determine product or process requirements, help establish the scope of the work, identify trade-offs, and plan complex project activities.
- Work as part of a distributed Agile Scrum team, support sprint and project planning efforts, provide effort estimates, measure progress and productivity, and contribute to or authos artifacts such as project strategy documents, sprint review presentations, team norms and vision, or other presentations as needed.
- Structure and facilitate design discovery sessions and stakeholder workshops. Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
