Thales has an opening for a Test Engineer in Orlando, FL. Position reporting to Test Development Manager will be tasked to support following organizations:

  • Production: managing and improving Test Floor capacity, capability, test time and content, organization, validation
  • NPI: New test electronics and testers to bring new products to market
  • R&D roadmaps: New tool/equipment design and installation supporting R&D as well as 3rd party business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement test packages to qualify new products (NPI), hardware, and software (30%)
  • Help drive development of dpiX test platform for both existing and new customers. (20%)
  • Support all existing products, test equipment, test firmware, and manufacturing (20%)
  • Perform testing, data analysis, and reporting as needed to support R&D, NPI, and manufacturing (15%)
  • Support flagship R&D programs as required (10%)
  • New tool/equipment purchase and installation (5%)
  • Willingness to work on other related duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years experience in semiconductor equipment engineering, flat panel display manufacturing / equipment engineering, solar equipment engineering, semiconductor reliability engineering, or flexible display manufacturing / equipment engineering
  • Semiconductor manufacturing equipment repair and maintenance
  • Interpersonal skills and proficiency in oral and written communication
  • X-ray detector assembly and test
  • Analyze equipment schematics for advanced troubleshooting of complex
  • Software programming C++, Matlab, Python
  • SPC (statistical process control) and FMEA (failure mode engineering analysis)

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree – Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Preferred
  • Existing experience in Silvaco design & layout tools or willingness to learn
  • Strong knowledge of PCB schematic, design, layout, and board fabrication (Altium)
  • Familiarity and capacity to edit, modify, and translate technical requirements in VHDL languages
