Desktop Support Technician
Job Description
The Desktop Support Technician will need to perform Tier 1 / Tier 2 technical support for staff Members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the initial contact for staff and perform initial analysis and troubleshooting of reported problem.
- Prepare and Document helpdesk tickets for escalation when needed.
- Track ordering and place purchase orders of IT hardware, software and services.
- General IT documentation entry and organization.
- Perform hardware troubleshooting and repair as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all general IT assets.
- Maintain patching on assigned networks and endpoints.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support as needed.
- Relocate Desktop or end user workspaces as needed.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Information Technology or related field required. 2 years of experience (in addition to the experience requirement below) may substitute degree requirement.
- 2 to 4 years of desktop experience and COMP TIA Certification highly desired.
- Intermediate knowledge of desktop operating systems (Microsoft Windows 10), Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and MS Azure and MS Admin Center.
- Beginning/Intermediate knowledge of network devices (routers, firewalls, switches).
- Excellent communications/customer relationship skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Help Desk/MSP experience a plus.
- Cabling & Wireless Network Installations.
- Remote Maintenance & Support.
- Ability to work overtime, as assigned.
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to crawl on the floor or in crawl spaces for installation of equipment.
- Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds.
