Process & Pipeline Services (PPS) supports the full lifecycle of customers' asset from pre-commissioning to decommissioning. We help to reduce corrosion, improve efficiency and maximize throughput. Our solutions for pre-commissioning, commissioning, In-line inspection and maintenance shutdowns include specialized services for oil and gas, power generation, metals and mining, and other process industries.

As an Operations Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the evaluation and specification of equipment used to inspect our customers pipelines. Operations Engineering provides support for all technical queries dealing with PPS products including Cleaning, Gauging, Geometry and pipeline Inspection Vehicles systems.

As an Operations Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out failure investigation (FIT) on in-field failures and root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent re-occurrence of problems.
  • Using supplied manuals and engineering drawings, conduct detailed test and repair of the systems used by the PPS Inspection tools.
  • Problem solving and the ability to apply this to solve complex electro-mechanical problems
  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D Computer Aided Design packages.
  • Ensuring that all documentation produced for each project undertaken is of a level that can be clearly understood and provides sufficient detail to allow the operation to be repeated in the future.
  • Participating in design reviews
  • Resolving issues with and support new designs in-field.
  • Supporting supply chain as required to resolve supplier deviations

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in mechanical engineering
  • Be experienced in delivering quality in all aspects of processes undertaken
  • Have experience in fault finding of complex embedded systems
  • Have experience solving complex electro-mechanical problems
  • Be results oriented, self-motivated and have the ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Have the ability to use past experience and technical knowledge to achieve solutions to complex problems within agreed budget and timescales
  • Display excellent communication skills
