The Gigafactory Texas Stamping Team is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to be responsible for all incoming, inline, and outgoing quality for the Stamping, Cybertruck manufacturing areas. The primary objective of this role is to support the production of high-quality vehicles through risks analysis and mitigation, and continual improvement of our products and processes.
- Develop manufacturing requirements, quality standards, and product quality plans to ensure products will meet expectations of our target customers
- Lead development of PFMEAs, control plans, and test/inspection procedures to identify and eliminate risks associated with our products and processes
- Drive cross-functional problem-solving teams to drive process and product improvements, and facilitate issue resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation, and validation of effective corrective and preventive actions
- Support production operations to achieve both production and quality KPI's
- B.S., in manufacturing or other engineering discipline, or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- 5+ years of experience in product manufacturing engineering, quality and/or testing
- Quality systems experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (automotive highly preferred)
- Specific training and demonstrated success in applying quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, etc.
- Good understanding of engineering fundamentals and experience with a broad variety of measurement and inspection techniques
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all business levels and functions of both internal manufacturing and supplier relations
- Detail oriented, effectively handle multiple priorities, have a strong quality mindset, ability to meet tight deadlines, and enjoy working in a team environment
