As a cloud computing application architect, you know how to build a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. On our team, you’ll provide cloud expertise in the definition, development, and improvement of application architecture to ensure that client needs are fully met. This is an opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment using current cloud capabilities. Your technical expertise will be vital as you work with a diverse range of clients to inform strategy and design and ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process. You’ll recommend tools and solutions based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on premise, cloud based, and hybrid resources. You’ll lead your team as they help the client overcome their most difficult challenges in the cloud. Additionally, you’ll broaden your skillset in areas like automation and cloud-based security while developing critical systems for our clients. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

You Have:
Experience with migrating on-premises applications to the cloud, including AWS
Experience with cloud database solutions, including Amazon RDS or DynamoDB
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and AWS services
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and automation tools, including Terraform or CloudFormation
Knowledge of networking and security concepts, including VPC, subnets, and security groups
Knowledge of Agile methodologies
Ability to implement AWS security best practices and ensure compliance with security standards
Ability to obtain a security clearance
HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
Experience in designing, building, and deploying cloud-based applications, including in AWS
Experience with serverless computing and container orchestration technologies, including AWS Lambda and Amazon ECS/EKS
Experience with cost optimization techniques
Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
Experience with database migration strategies
Knowledge of AWS security services and DevOps practices
Ability to migrate complex database solutions to the cloud, implement security solutions that meet compliance requirements, design and implement scalable and highly available cloud solutions, and design and implement multi-tier architecture solutions
Ability to implement cost-effective cloud solutions
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization, problem solve, and troubleshoot complex technical issues
Possession of excellent communication and collaboration skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.EEO Commitment
