Job Description
Job Title: Mission Assurance Avionics Engineer

ASRC Federal Systems Solutions (AFSS) is looking for an experienced and highly motivated avionics engineer to perform avionics development, system testing, and risk assessment. The San Bernardino Engineering Center hosts a multi-disciplinary team of propulsion, structures, fluid mechanics, software, controls, and avionics engineering staff. We support the Rocket System Launch Program Mission Assurance (RSLP MA) contract for the United States Space Force supporting a program that provides rapid access to space for many government clients. We work with various launch vehicle contractors throughout the country to perform systems engineering and IV&V of their launch vehicles.

Opportunity for hybrid work schedule possible for some positions. Much more favorable commutes to/from LA/Orange/Riverside Counties.

Roles and Responsibilities (including some or all of the following):

  • Review electrical requirements, designs, analyses, test plans, test procedures and technical reports
  • Review and verify SV/LV electrical interface requirements
  • Monitor avionics developmental and system test activities
  • Evaluate non-conformance closures
  • Perform circuit analysis to evaluate design and anomalies
  • Perform pedigree review of hardware to assess for flight worthiness
  • Evaluate Test-Like-You-Fly exceptions of avionics test configurations
  • Perform independent analyses of avionics system
  • Review radiation requirements and analysis
  • Identify and assess mission risks
  • Perform post flight performance analysis
  • Support design reviews and technical interchange meetings
  • Report analysis progress, products, and recommendations to technical staff and management, and to the customers and its contractors in technical interchanges, briefings, and reports
  • Review and/or prepare presentations, reports, and other contract deliverables related to analyses
  • Present results of avionics mission assurance to internal, independent review team
  • Some travel to contractor sites required

This position is offering a pay range of $81,424.00- $138,432.00 depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with avionics systems design, test, or analysis in relevant industries
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must have demonstrated presentation skills and experience interfacing with customer
  • Position requires a proactive, self-starting, independent, flexible engineer with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools
  • Must be able to obtain DoD SECRET Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Current DoD SECRET (or higher) Security Clearance
  • 5+ Years of related experience in electrical system design, integration, and test
  • Understanding of missile engineering disciplines including avionics systems
  • Familiarity with the Minuteman and Peacekeeper launch systems
  • Experience with software embedded systems
