Job Description

Mission: As a Design Engineer at Epiroc, you will design and develop our products. You will be working with existing products where we focus on small continual improvements and some custom solutions to meet customer needs. Typically, the work is often related to mechanical design, but sometimes can involve electrical, powertrain, hydraulics, or controls. Internal cross functional contacts are essential as well as external contacts with supplier and others. The work covers concept development and realization, 3D CAD design and modeling, drawing detailing, analysis, and products specifications.


The Role:

 Develop and deliver design solutions related to structural, hydraulic, electrical, powertrain, and controls engineering
 Responsible for the 3D CAD design and drawing detailing for parts/assemblies using 3D CAD software
 Release engineering changes through PLM system
 Provide technical support to production, planning, sourcing, quality, marketing, service, and aftermarket departments
 Research and develop new concepts and test prototypes as required
 Assist in resolving field issues
 Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure designs meet technical and business objectives
 Complete technical calculations and analysis
 Research and follow applicable standards during design process
 Help train and develop new entry level engineers and designers


Skills

 Proficient with PTC Creo Parametric or equivalent 3D CAD software
 Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs)
 Knowledge in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software Siemens Teamcenter or similar
 Experience in performing finite element analysis (FEA) & advanced engineering calculations
 Exposure to heavy equipment manufacturing such as mining, construction, or agriculture
 Ability to compile and present technical data clearly and concisely
 In-depth knowledge of how components are manufactured
 Ability to generate creative solutions to problems and work in a fast-paced environment which requires multi-tasking capability

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Minimum Years of Work Experience
5-10 years experience in mechanical design or similar
