This is an Electromagnetic Inerference (EMI) lab-centric position as a part of the Product Engineering department's Technology Labs & Services group.
Candidate will be responsible for coordinating, conducting, and managing Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests with a full-complement of on-site laboratory chambers and equipment. Support test reviews for upcoming tests with decisions of states, modes, and related set up details to ensure proper functionality testing during electromagnetic environment exposures.
The candidate will also be responsible for the care and upkeep of the lab environment and equipment. Duties such as safety audits, equipment inventory, capital purchasing requests, workflow management and customer relationship maintenance are vital to lab operations.
The Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work with multiple product teams to support the verification of equipment and systems in electromagnetic environments. This includes EMC, EME/HIRF, HERO, HERP, Lightning, Static, TEMPEST, etc…
Basic Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD Interim Secret clearance to start.
Experience with all aspects of preparing and conducting EMI standardized tests, including writing test plans, procedures, coordination with equipment under test teams, conducting tests, troubleshooting EMI issues, and documenting test results.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physics or related field.
Desired Skills:
Active DoD Secret Clearance
EMI design and verification support experience is preferred in Military or civil aviation industry.
Complete working knowledge of test equipment and EMI test processes.
Proficiency in MIL- STD-461 and/or RTCA/DO-160 standards.
System level design verification tests aside from standardized tests will be conducted in laboratories to further establish EMI performance baselines for systems.
Candidates with commercial standard experience will be considered based on common engineering test practices.
5+ years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
