Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Technical Support Engineer II. Perform support engineering duties in furtherance of solving technical problems in context of web and networking issues; work in a DevOps software engineering environment; utilize software systems tools, processes, and knowledge to diagnose and resolve product, platform, and customer issues; proactively review and mitigate risks, while minimizing potential disruption; apply understanding of the internet and IP networks, DNS and routing, and communication protocols such as HTTP, TCP or UDP; work with web programming languages as appropriate. Required Qualification:
Master's or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or Telecommunications Engineering and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related technical support engineering role.
Must Have: 1 year of experience in at least five (5) of the following skills: network monitoring systems, SQL, Bash, Python, AWS security, Key Management Service (KMS), Meraki, CloudTrail, CloudHSM, HTTP, SSL, DNS, network protocols (TCP/IP, ICMP), web programming (HTML, JavaScript), .NET architecture, Web Services (SOAP, XML), configuring webservers (Apache, IIS), routers, switches, firewalls.
