Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
Lab Technician II should be proficient in the Sample Prep, and Wet Lab duties, such as Atomic Absorption analysis on the Mine Samples, perform all analysis’ in the Wet Lab area, including pH, Cyanide titrations, LECO analysis, Lime testing, performing QA/QC tests, knowledge of Fire Assay Lab procedures with guidance. Demonstrate competency in LIMS with minimal guidance.

KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Able to Instruct, Safely and Effectively Performs Tech Level I Tasks with Little or No Guidance
Active involvement and enforcement of all safe work practices
Preparation of samples including crushing, splitting, and pulverizing of ore
Ensure QA/QC standards are observed and noted
Competency in wet lab procedures included handling chemicals and preparing samples for analysis
Ensuring safe handling of all reagents including litharge, cyanide solution, alkaline solutions, and acidic solutions.
Perform and record assay analysis of samples in accordance with procedures
Understanding of LIMS and basic knowledge of its use and ability to perform minor tasks
Perform Proper Inspections and Reports all Unsafe Conditions and Defects
Maintain upkeep of lab spaces and equipment to ensure safe and accurate analytical standards

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR SUBSTITUTED EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
College degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, metallurgy, or other laboratory science fields is a plus
1-3 years working in a Lab position with experience Wet and Fire Lab duties able to operate the LECO, AA, Mercury Analyzer, Lime samples, Cyanide titrations, and Fire Assay.
Attention to detail, follow directions, read, write legibly and complete forms accurately

The pay-range for this position is from $24.27hr to $27.78hr , based on experience.
