Your Mission

As a Senior Software Engineer in Platform Security Engineering, you will be a key member in helping us keep our players safe as they play and pay in our epic game universes. You will work on a small, dynamic, and inclusive team building and maintain the services that monitor account activity, account safety, financial transactions, in game actions, and so much more. Platform Security Engineering is a champion of Play Nice; Play Fair, as such the services you work on every day will be critical in generating the data we use to find the cheaters and protect player accounts from compromise by bad actors.

You will have an incredible impact across all of Blizzard’s games teams, social services, ecommerce, customer service, finance, and legal. Our services run in every region in the world, 24 hours a day, so you will participate in a regular on-call rotation with the other engineers on the team.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

• 7+ years of experience building high reliability services.
• Experience with protocol and API design
• 3+ years of Java experience

Knowledge & Skills

• A degree in computer science, related field, boot camp, or professional experience
• Advanced understand of Java
• Solid data structures, algorithm, and logic skills
• A knowledge of IaaS/Public cloud providers such as (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Experience

• Prior development work on distributed systems
• Experience with google cloud and aws

• Experience with performance analysis and code optimization
• Knowledge of network and server security issues
• Database development experience (MySQL, Oracle, Cassandra, etc)

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $121,500.00 - $224,880.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
