The Opportunity
Responsible for Collecting and analyzing security data from various sources such as firewall logs, intrusion detection systems, and network traffic. Analyzes data using statistical techniques and tools to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Creates reports and dashboards to visualize security data and provide insights into security trends and patterns. Develops and maintains security tools and scripts for data collection, analysis, and reporting. Develops information security awareness program through, data sharing, communications, training, and events. Collaborates with other security professionals, such as security engineers and incident responders, to address security incidents and recommend solutions.
Responsibilities:

Collect, analyze, and interpret security data from a variety of sources, including network logs, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and threat intelligence feeds.

Identify trends and patterns in security data and use this information to develop and implement proactive measures to prevent security incidents.

Develop and maintain data visualizations to effectively communicate security trends and insights to stakeholders.

Responsible for security awareness, and events for the campus community. Implement, track, and measure the effectiveness of phishing awareness campaigns, and provide regular reports to leadership on the results and impact of the campaigns.

Ensure the security office is effectively engaging with faculty, staff, students, and the broader UCF community on security-related events and sharing relevant security information.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to collect, process, and analyze large amounts of data and identify meaningful insights.

Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R, as well as data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI and Excel.

Understanding of business operations and the ability to use data to support decision making.

Ability to identify and correct errors in data, ensure accuracy, and ensure that data is properly formatted for analysis.

Ability to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders in both technical and non-technical terms.
