As a Security Systems Programming & Commissioning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of Tesla's physical security systems. You will apply your technical skills to ensure that global technology standards are met with all new and existing site builds projects. You will be the gatekeeper ensuring that technology standards are met and only fully functional sites are transitioned to monitoring. Tesla's Technical Security Team is responsible for securing a complex mix of manufacturing, retail, and corporate facilities that provide a variety of physical and technical challenges.


This role will be based at our Fremont, CA location but will provide global support as needed to support Tesla's growth and mission.


What You’ll Do
  • Programming and commissions site security hardware including Access Control, Video Management and Intrusion Detection systems (Cameras, Card Readers, Inputs…etc)
  • Provides clear and accurate direction to field installation teams identifying site deficiencies and directions on how to remediate deficiencies
  • Works closely with Security Project managers, Site builds project teams, Networking team, Infrastructure team to ensure that projects are delivered on time and per standards
  • Provides consultancy service to Project Managers and Technician team to help review security designs, validating BOMs and helping to reduce end of project change orders
  • Identify opportunities to improve individual and team performance and reduce time to market
  • Maintain system site documentation including programming and commissioning docs, site install photos, drawings and other project close out docs
  • Help to create and maintain knowledge database ensuring that all team members have access to relevant and accurate information
What You’ll Bring

  • Physical Security Software and Hardware Programming, Commissioning, Designing, installing, and maintaining physical security systems for corporate, manufacturing, and retail facilities.
  • Low voltage electrical systems, video management systems, access control systems, and other technical security systems and devices
  • Physical Security Industry standard installation tools and safety practices
  • Technical security system certifications (Commend, Traka, Genetec, Gallagher, and Sureview).
