Completion of 60 semester credits to include 15 semester credits in a computer related field; completion of a vocational or trade school program in the installation, maintenance or repair of personal computers and related equipment; or high school diploma or GED and one year of experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of personal computers and related equipment are required.

• Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) issues.

The Miami-Dade County Information Technology Department (ITD) is currently seeking Computer Technician for the Miami-Dade County ITD Field Services Division. Primary responsibilities are installation, repair, and maintenance of the following: Desktop, Tablets, Laptops, VOIP phones, WiFi, Network, specialized peripheral equipment, and security patching. The Computer Technician is responsible for interacting with other Computer, Telecommunications, Network Specialists and Technicians in providing IT service support to all County Departments, ensuring communication system performance and reliability of Miami-Dade County Government. This position entails installing, troubleshooting, maintain Desktop computers, laptops, VOIP telephones, peripherals, and other IP connected devices.
