Materials Engineer
Job Description
About the job
Our materials engineering researchers work directly with multi-disciplinary project teams to understand key manufacturing and product challenges and determine how material developments and surface treatment technologies can be used to solve them. This includes problem assessment, material development & characterization, application development and testing, prototyping, and more. Our team members are an integral part of the Center eco-system, contributing to a dynamic environment of multiple projects, collaborating with colleagues from various internal operating companies, university faculty & students, suppliers, and other applied research centers. As Materials Engineer, you will provide team guidance founded on a theoretical basis tempered by industrial experiences to shape durable solutions. You will contribute to the Center leadership helping to shape the methodologies and processes utilized across a broad spectrum of materials.
Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals experiencing disability and BIPOC are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
