We are looking for a Principal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our Digital & Innovation team in Columbia, SC or Cranberry Township, PA! Are you a Mechanical or Materials Engineer interested in Advanced Manufacturing? Consider us and this opportunity!

Your Day to Day:
  • Serve as AM designer on multifunctional design teams utilizing the integrated development process (IDP).
  • Work with design teams, leveraging design for additive manufacturing principles, to produce advanced AM designs for new and existing products.
  • Perform design feasibility studies on potential AM applications.
  • Create/develop design drawings, specifications, procedures, qualifications for AM products.
  • Perform testing and analyses required to support new AM development.
  • Work to understand and characterize process capability limits.
  • Work with suppliers on development activities, resolving issues, etc
  • Support the development of supplier AM qualifications which comply to various applicable quality standards (e.g. NQA-1 and ISO9001).
  • Provide training to internal employees and customers on designing for additive manufacturing as required.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve significant technical issues in field of Additive Manufacturing.
  • Provide technical leadership in the development of product improvements and innovations and support technological research in the areas of Advanced/Additive Manufacturing.
  • Investigate and develop new/improved technical products, services and designs for business growth opportunities.
  • Lead, coordinate, and integrate complex technical projects which encompass multi-functional areas.

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or equivalent is required.
  • CAD modeling proficiency required (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Graduate studies of additive manufacturing desired.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a production/development environment is required.
  • Experience working with suppliers and EOS machine platform desired.
  • Lead supplier development activities to support post processing and AM parameter development, build file preparation, and operating LPBF machines.
