The Messaging Engineering team is central to the Snapchat application - we enable Snapchatters to keep in touch with their friends. We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to help support our teams in solving interesting technical challenges, building world-class experiences in Snapchat and maintaining a platform used by hundreds of millions every day. In this role you’ll manage teams in Seattle, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area, and collaborate with leaders and executives across Snap to deliver the highest quality for our product.
What you’ll do:
Oversee day-to-day operations of part of the Messaging Engineering team across multiple offices
Be an active member of the Snap Engineering and Messaging leadership teams
Develop organizational-level goals, drive the technical and organizational roadmap for the engineering team
Collaborate with Engineering, Product and Design teams distributed across multiple offices
Build and grow a team of exceptional software engineers and technical leaders
Experience in project goal-setting, schedule management and work breakdown structures
Capacity to work in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment
Mentor a team of engineering managers and senior independent contributors
Iterate quickly without compromising quality and raise the bar on operational excellence
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience as a customer focused engineering leader
History of involvement in product roadmapping and decision making
History of involvement in hiring and recruiting
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
7+ years of software engineering experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience as an engineering manager.
Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company
Preferred Qualifications:
Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
History of involvement in product roadmapping and decision making
Experience managing a mobile development team
Experience working on a high scale, high DAU mobile application

The base salary range for this position is $255,000- $335,000
For WA based applicants:

The base salary range for this position is $255,000 - $335,000
This position is eligible for a discretionary performance-based bonus
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
